2025 Summer Session

  • Full-week sessions are open to any child up to 8 years old who has completed a year of PreK3s. Children must have completed at least a year of drop-off preschool programming. Children will explore our playgrounds, our outdoor art studio, and Nature School spaces engaging in art projects, science experiments, water/sensory play, and building activities. Summer session provides the opportunity for social development through both planned activities as well as relaxed, fun, open-ended play.

  • Theater Art is open to any child who has completed a year of PreK3 up to age 8. Children will spend this week exploring theater arts! This includes songs, performing, set, and costume creation. Family members will be invited to attend a performance at the end of the week. Our theater art program is a fun way to explore literacy, art, and develop confidence.

  • Nature School is open to any child who has completed a year of PreK3 up to age 8. Nature School Summer is a two-day-a-week program where children are given the opportunity to explore nature. CNS has its own Nature School with preschool/school-age programming that runs entirely outside. Time will be spent at the Nature School basecamp, the outdoor art studio, the greenhouse, the pollinator garden, and the Barn at CNS. Natural art materials, outdoor music-making, local animal habitats, solar science, bugs and gardening, small world, loose parts and so much more!

  • CNS summer toddler programming is open to children 18 months to 3 years old with their parent/caregiver. This class is encouraged for incoming PreK3’s.

    OUTDOOR EXPLORERS

    Monday- Session 1- 6/16, 6/23, 7/7, 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4, 8/11

    Time: 9:15-10:15

    Our Outdoor Explorers program takes place entirely outside! This program is the first step into Nature School. Children and their grown-ups will spend time in the outdoor learning spaces, playgrounds, and outdoor art studio. Time spent outside builds resilience, allows for risk taking, and cultivates a love of the natural world.

    AUTHOR CELEBRATIONS

    Wednesdays - Session 1 - ERIC CARLE and LEO LIONNI - 6/18, 6/25, 7/9, 7/16, 7/23, 7/30, 8/6, 8/13

    Time: 9:15am-10:15am

    Our Author Celebration class celebrates an author by reading their work and then engaging in play-based activities inspired by their writing. Art projects, songs, and sensory activities are all geared towards cultivating a love of books, reading, and of course, school!

    Culinary Explorers

    Fridays- Session 1- 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/1, 8/8, 8/15

    Time: 9:15am-10:15am

    Join Caitlin Anderson, certified holistic health coach, in exploring, discovering, and tasting new foods! This class focuses on sensory experiences, food exploration, and positive food talk.   • Art and Artist Summer Program is open to any child entering PreK4s, Kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade This program will explore the lives of famous artists and allows children the opportunity to create pieces inspired by their work. Children learn about artists’ lives as children, and how they grew up into their craft. All different types of art are explored, including impressionism, pop-art, surrealism, and modern art. Children learn to appreciate different types of art and the creative process.
