Toddler Programming

Welcome to our cooperative! Toddler programming at Community Nursery School is for children and their parents or caregivers. These classes are designed for children to love school and for families to build community and make social connections. Entering a toddler program allows families to become a part of our cooperative. In joining when your child is still a toddler you have the opportunity to participate as a cooperative member before your child begins preschool programming. This is a great way to get to know families, be involved in your child’s school experience, and participate in running CNS. Being an active member of the cooperative means your child may enter into preschool programming the following year directly from the toddler programs. Toddler programming is best suited for children that are about 18 months old to under three years. Families may opt for more than year of toddler programming depending on the needs of their child.

Our PreK2 program gives children a chance to experience an age-appropriate version of a typical CNS preschool day. This means an opportunity to free-explore, stories, music, art, and time outside. This program allows students to become familiar with a classroom setting and be a part of a classroom community. This class has nature experiences on the hiking trails, the outdoor art studio, and other outdoor learning spaces at CNS.

Our Nature Explorers program is an immersive outdoor experience that gives children the chance to spend meaningful time outside in nature. This program takes place outside in all (safe!) weather and gives students time to explore and discover the natural world around them. This program takes place at Basecamp East, and children will hike the trails to nearby destinations.
